Marathon Running Training Plan
Rob Stephenson prepares year-round for marathon running events. Even when he doesn’t have his intentions set on a specific race, Stephenson prepares like he has a race set for tomorrow. Keeping himself in this mindset helps him to push towards a higher level of potential, in terms of his physical fitness. Stephenson stays fit by embracing the opportunity to go for a run each morning. When the weather gets in the way, the runner makes do by training indoors on his home exercise equipment, including an elliptical machine.
Rob Stephenson dedicates himself to a marathon running training plan. The routine includes a balance of attention on both physical fitness training and nutrition. Stephenson begins with a 10 minute warm-up of stretch exercises, including side lunges, glute bridges, and the butterfly stretch. He then jogs around his neighborhood with the goal of running at least half a mile. When possible, Stephenson goes for an additional run at night. Even when he is not preparing for a specific marathon, Stephenson finds strength and a sense of accomplishment in committing to his marathon running training plan.
Marathons in New Zealand
A large majority of Rob Stephenson’s family lives in New Zealand. As such, he considers New Zealand to be one of his many homes. An avid marathon runner, Stephenson is currently preparing to participate in marathon running events planned to take place in the country. He has his sights set on the finish line of marathons like Kaikoura Mountains to the Sea, Mission Mt Somers, Auckland Marathon, Feilding Festival of Running and Queenstown Marathon.
